Spelling Bee

There will be a book fair in the library Feb. 10th through Feb. 16th. It will be open in the evenings during parent and teacher conferences. You can find details and shop online here. The online store will be open through Feb. 28th. Thank you for your support! 

National Public Radio has a new book club, called Backseat Book Club. This is what they say on their webpage:
"If you're a kid who likes to read, we want to hear from you! Every month, we'll pick a Backseat Book Club selection. We hope you'll read it, then send in questions. At month's end, we'll put some of your questions to the book's author during our afternoon radio program, All Things Considered."

The SMS Library recycles ink cartridges and electronics like old cell phones, iPods/MP3 players, gaming systems, DVD’s, GPS and digital cameras. Bring these items to the library at any time. Please contact Ms. Maley if you have questions.

The media center is well stocked and ready to go. Maintaining a collection at the middle school level is challenging, as we service a wide range of maturity levels. Young adult literature has changed, and you may find your student reading books with mature themes and language. Please have frequent conversations about books and contact me if you have questions.
